Upgrade your central heating system with a new central heating boiler

We should all prepare for the wintertime months as the weather gets colder and the days shorter by having good gas central heating in our homes. By centrally heating your home, you can make it more comfortable, inviting and relaxing.

The two basic types of central heating systems are called pumped and vented, both of which are made up of a heating boiler, radiators and usually copper pipework.

The most often used system of the two is probably the pumped systems, these comprise of a feed and expansion tank, which works by the heating boiler heating up which then distributes the heat through the pipes to the heaters. The tank has enough storage space to allow for any water expansion that might result from the heating system.

In contrast, Sealed systems eliminate this primary water tank section. This system is essentially self-providing and therefore does not require any water tanks. It works well in colder countries like Norther Europe because the pipes are less likely to freeze up in this system, in addition to that there are less risks of leaking and there are no airlocks too.

Tell me why I should get central heating?.

One of the greatest advantages of central heating is its capability to increase the temperature inside a house or office very quickly without creating any noticeable effects in the air immediately surrounding you. Before the central heating system came into existence, other heaters like electric and storage heaters were used to keep the house warm or even coal fires. However, these were not ideal as they emitted an odour and affected the condition of the air, drying it out.

With gas central heating systems, these problems are not encountered, but your central heating system will require regular maintenance. Many families only use their gas central heating during the cold months and leave them entirely unused during the summertime, this is a common error. You should instead try to gradually introduce them in the autumn time, testing so if things are playing up you can easily call out an engineer.

Periodic draining is very important for some types of central heating systems since they constantly suck dirt and air into them. The best way to do this is to place a bucket underneath the drain valve and slowly open it to release the water, but just make sure that no more air or dirt is making its way in.

  • Sample central heating for a cosy house Sample central heating for a cosy house Gas central heating is the best way to keep your house warm during winters. By centrally heating your house, you can make it more comfortable, inviting and relaxing. In general, two types of gas central heating systems exist, one that’s pumped and the other with a vented system; but a gas boiler, heating radiator and pipework make up the components of most heaters. Popularly used are pumped systems which comprise of a main feed and expansion water tank that heats up and transmits the heat through pipework to secondary heaters (heating radiators). The tank has enough storage space to allow for any water expansion that might result from the heating system. There is also what is known as a sealed system in which no centre core is used to heat the radiators. Since it is totally sealed, the feed-expansion tanks are not required. The major benefits from this type of system, is that it basically lessens the risk of leaking and stops other possible problems such airlocks, one of the better advantages, especially for colder countries is that there…...

There’s nothing cosier than a warm room while a blizzard rages outdoors, and this warmth is best provided by a sturdy and efficient gas central heating system. Central heating systems, which basically comprise of a set of heating radiators, gas boiler and pipework, can be segregated into two distinct classes, pumped systems and vented systems. The most often used system of the two is probably the pumped systems, these comprise of a feed and expansion tank, which works by the heating boiler heating up which then distributes the heat through the pipes to the heaters. The expansion tank will always allow for any water expansion that may occur as it gets hot. The vented system on the other hand is a sealed system where there is no core heating. No water tanks are necessary because the system is closed.…...
